How to clean every kind of smart phone case

How did our formerly gorgeous phone covers get to be so worn-out? Our daily usage of our phones exposes them to environmental factors including UV radiation, humidity, heat, dust, friction, etc. As a result, their surfaces experience frequent wear and tear, which can cause stains. However, it’s always better to keep your mobile cover clean and free of any germs and bacteria, even if there are no obvious stains on it. This is particularly true given the possibility that your cell phone is dirtier than a toilet seat. Depending on the sort of phone case you have, we’ve included a variety of ways to clean it here:

  1. Plastic and silicone phone cases

Start by mixing water and dish soap in a basin for the best method of cleaning silicone phone covers. Put your phone cover in the basin after the water is soapy and let it soak for a while. To keep the case underwater, you might need to add a weight to it.

Use a toothbrush to gently scrape spots and clean the edges. If you come across a very difficult stain, you may also use baking soda. Scrub the phone case until all dirt is gone, then rinse it in cold water. Even on translucent plastic phone covers, this works wonders. With a microfiber towel, you may dry your case after sucking out the water without damaging it. Because it is really soft and has a flat weave that prevents lint or streaks from being left behind, we suggest using our suede microfiber cloth. Allow the case to air dry for about an hour to make sure there is no moisture left before putting it back on your phone.

  1. If your phone case is white

The same technique may be used to wash and dry a Zapvi silicone phone case if it is white and just slightly soiled. White cases, however, might become more soiled more quickly and frequently turn yellow or end up with quite noticeable stains. So go ahead and combine bleach and water in a basin if your white phone cover needs additional cleaning power. Bleach shouldn’t be used in large quantities since it might harm silicone casings. Place your case in the solution for a few minutes after diluting one teaspoon of bleach in warm water. Bleach should be able to get rid of stubborn stains and discoloration.

  1. Rubber Phone Case

Rubber phone cases may also be readily cleaned with a solution of dish detergent and water, much like silicone cases. This is the simplest method for cleaning phone cases. Put the case in the soapy water and use a toothbrush to scrub the edges. After that, use a microfiber towel to clean the rubber casing. You may re-clean any remaining stains on your rubber phone case by dampening a cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Alternatively, you might mix some borax into the soapy water and soak the rubber case in it for an hour. To dry rubber, always use a flat, woven microfiber towel that is lint-free, such as one of our microfiber suede cloths. This will prevent lint and streaks from being left behind.

Particularly with white rubber or transparent rubber cases, certain stains are more difficult to remove than others. Thus, try creating a paste of baking soda and water if you’re still having trouble getting rid of all the dirt. After applying the paste to your rubber case, wait a few hours for it to dry. After that, rinse your case and brush the paste away. Try this technique if you want to know how to completely clean rubber phone covers.

  1. Wood Phone Case

Since wood has the most sensitive case surface, dusting your wood phone cases more frequently is more crucial. This will stop oil, grime, and other debris from settling into the surface or scratching it. Avoid using water to clean your wooden phone cover if at all feasible. Wood can decay if it comes into contact with water too frequently. Instead, keep your wood case in good shape by cleaning it frequently with a dry microfiber cloth. While tissues and other types of fabric can damage wood, microfiber cloths have soft threads that can pick up dirt without damaging the material. (Our suggested microfiber cloth for wood phone covers is listed below.)

You may lightly dampen the microfiber cloth with a little bit of water and wipe your wood phone case to remove harder dirt. If the residue is very sticky, mix a few drops of white vinegar with some water and dunk your towel in the mixture. Never put a liquid on the wood casing directly; always use a towel instead. Then, blot out any extra water with a dry microfiber towel. Use a fluffy or terry microfiber cloth to dry wood since it is porous. This will guarantee that you’re absorbed into the tiny fissures and cracks.

Make sure to clean and dry with the grain while following this advice.

  1. Leather Phone Case

The best cleaning method for leather phone cases is a mild solution. Your leather case may be lightly cleaned using a moist microfiber towel and mild hand soap. Distribute the soap evenly across the cloth after applying it. Use a dry cloth and a mild cleanser if you have one. Use a plusher terry-style microfiber towel for drying rather than one that is flat-woven. The reason for this is that leather is porous, so you need to make sure you are getting into all of its nooks and crannies.

Always use circular motions when rubbing to ensure that you are being as gentle as you can when cleaning and drying. By doing this, you may avoid stretching the leather. Remember that the cleaning process should be as straightforward as possible because the materials and solutions you use on your leather case may change its appearance and color.

As a tip, use saddle soap to condition and repair leather.

Why Microfiber Clothes Are a Necessity

No matter what type of phone case you have, microfiber is necessary for thorough phone case cleaning. This is due to the fact that microfiber is absorbent, tiny enough to take up particles, and soft enough to not scratch. Microfiber can very successfully eliminate a lot of bacteria and germs with just water since it is so small.

Cleaning your phone case on a regular basis will help keep dirt, residue, and grime from accumulating. No matter what kind of case your phone has, you can easily clean it using a combination of cleaning solutions and microfiber towels. You can rely on a microfiber cloth to thoroughly clean your phone case without causing any harm, whether it is made of silicone or wood.
