Union Public Service Commission has declared UPSC Mains Result 2022 in online mode on the official website of UPSC – upsc.gov.in. UPSC IAS 2022 Main Exam Result is available in PDF format. What is the full form of UPSC CSE?

The full form of UPSC CSE is Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination, while its full name in Hindi is Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination. UPSC CSE exam is commonly known as UPSC IAS exam by most of the people. The objective of the IAS exam is to recruit eligible and competent civil servants for the job.

UPSC CSE 2023 Selection Process:

UPSC CSE 2023 selection process (UPSC Civil Services selection procedure 2023) consists of three stages which are as follows:

Preliminary Examination – Civil Services Preliminary Examination is conducted for all those candidates who have successfully registered for the UPSC IAS 2023 exam. UPSC IAS 2023 preliminary exam is conducted to screen candidates for IAS mains exam, marks obtained in preliminary stage are not considered while preparing final IAS merit list.

Mains Exam – UPSC IAS 2023 mains exam is conducted for the shortlisted candidates who have cleared the UPSC IAS Prelims cutoff marks. 12 to 13 times more candidates than the number of vacancies are selected for UPSC IAS 2023 mains exam. There are total 9 descriptive paper in mains exam

The Indian Languages and English (Paper A and B) papers of the Civil Services Main Examination are of qualifying nature, the marks in these papers are also not counted for preparing the merit list. Marks obtained by the candidates in all other IAS mains papers are taken into account for making the final UPSC IAS merit list 2023.

Interview – In this stage, with twice the number of vacancies, candidates are called for a personal interview on the basis of their performance in the main examination. The marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination and Personality Test are considered together for preparing the All India Merit List for IAS Examination. The allotment of services will be done according to the rank of the candidate in the merit list and the preference of services and posts.

UPSC CSE 2023 Admit Card:

UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern

2023 Mains Exam Pattern:

  • There are 9 conventional type papers in the mains examination of civil services.

  • The exam has a total of 1750 marks.
  • According to the Civil Services, there will be 26 optional subjects in the main examination.

UPSC CSE 2023 Cutoff:

Civil Services 2023 cutoff refers to the minimum qualifying marks required to be obtained by the candidates as per their category in various stages of IAS exam in order to clear that stage. UPSC IAS Cutoff 2023 will be released after the declaration of final IAS Result 2023 by the Union Public Service Commission.
