China’s Top Medical Schools
1. Shanghai Second Medical College and Shanghai Jiaotong University merged to form the Department of Medicine, Project 985 and Project 211, the first batch of the “excellent doctor education and training program.”
2. Peking Union Medical College
It is integrated with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and is the only important Medical Universities in China directly under the Ministry of Health’s control. It is an “Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program” pilot university. The first eight-year medical undergraduate program in China was established in 1919 and is now in its first century. The palace of Chinese medicine is how people refer to it.
3. Projects 985 and 211 of the Peking University Health Science Center. National Beijing Medical School, established in 1912, served as its forerunner. The Chinese Ministry of Education established it as the country’s first national school with a focus on teaching Western medicine. The new Peking University, which was later renamed Peking University Medical Department, was created by the merger of Beijing Medical University and Peking University.

6. Sichuan University’s West China Medical Center
One of the first four comprehensive medical universities listed in the national Project 211 is the former West China Medical University, which is directly under the Ministry of Health.
7. the Huazhong University of Science and Technology’s Tongji Medical College
The second-level college has ties to Huazhong University of Science and Technology and is among the first group of Pilot Universities in China with top-notch programs for doctoral education and training. Its predecessor was the Shanghai German Medical School, which later changed its name to the Medical School of National Tongji University and then merged with the Medical School of Wuhan University.
The Huazhong University of Science and Technology’s Tongji Medical School was founded in 2000. It is currently among China’s top five medical schools.
8. Central South University’s Xiangya Medical College
The Hunan Education Society and Yale University’s Yale-China Institute founded it in 1914. It is known as “Southern Xiangya, Northern Xiehe” and is the first Chinese-foreign medical school in China.
9. Sun Yat-sen University’s Sun Yat-sen Medical School
The secondary school, which is connected to Sun Yat-sen University, was one of the first medical colleges to be constructed in conjunction by the Ministries of Education and Health.
10. Zhejiang University School of Medicine
With its extensive scope and strength in medical education, scholarly research, and medical care, Zhejiang University’s Project 211 School of Medicine has grown to become one of China’s most renowned medical institutions.
